Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and all company policies and procedures are being followed correctly.
  • Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and IDS (including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination).
  • Participate in the pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicing equipment with fuel or glycol).
  • Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; that all maintenance issues have been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are followed.
  • Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections on equipment. Conduct spot checks on equipment and tools to keep in a safe and operational condition at all times.
  • Assess and respond to necessary repairs and maintenance of all deicing and transportation equipment as assigned by the mechanic.
  • Communicate daily with team members to ensure that all are informed about equipment status and expected outcome from next shift on maintenance items that are outstanding.
  • Attend and participate in all trainings with members of the maintenance hybrid workforce.
  • Promote consistent reinforcement and adherence to IDS’ mission, values and purpose to instill the core beliefs of IDS.
  • Compliance with all applicable environmental laws and permits.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • • HS Diploma or Satisfactory completion of GED and professional experience.
  • • Valid US driver’s license.
  • • Successful completion of required airport badging process and pre-employment drug screen is required.
  • • Knowledge of fluid types, diesel powered machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • • Successful completion of all IDS classroom and OJT de-/anti-icing training.
  • • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
